CMS and the CDC proposed a 51-page CLIA rewrite this morning that undoes most of what the 2023 personnel rule did to laboratory directors. Who Did Medicare Leave Off Its Four-Million-NPI List?

Who Pays First When OPM and CMS Disagree?
CMS issued Change Request 14603 on Friday to end a four-year standoff with the Office of Personnel Management. For a federal retiree drawing workers' compensation, Medicare pays first and the FEHB plan pays second, starting November 2. How an Eye-Tracking Test Got Its Own G Code
Until Thursday, the three letters asd in Medicare's payment files meant atrial septal defect. CMS established HCPCS G0685 effective October 1 for an algorithm-based assessment of autism likelihood from eye-gaze data, priced it at $135.93 in the hospital outpatient department, and left the physician office side to the MACs. Medicare Advantage Got 4% of UnitedHealthcare's 30%
UnitedHealthcare said on September 1 that it would drop 30% of prior authorization requirements on October 1.
